Koyo Kubose - Message From the Kubose Family Although many may have heard already, it is with great sadness that the Kubose family must share the news that Rev. Sunnan Koyo Kubose passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. Rev. Koyo’s passing was sudden and unexpected. The Kubose family appreciates all the kind words, memories, and stories that have been shared with us via phone calls, texts, emails, and social media. We would love to hear any stories or words of remembrance that you would like to share, and we encourage you to email them to brightdawn@kubose.com. For stories that we do receive, we hope to include them in a "Remembering Sensei" compilation. The Kubose family and the Bright Dawn Lay Ministry leadership team apologizes for delays in the newsletter, fulfillment of book orders, in the processing and acknowledgment of donations, and about the pause in a next Lay Ministry program. In the wake of Rev. Koyo’s passing this year and his wife, Adrienne’s, passing in 2021, the family is still in the process of learning how to accomplish what Rev. Koyo and Adrienne have been doing for many years. Thank you for all who helped them along the way and those who continue to help. The family would also like to formally express our gratitude to the lay ministers. We are thankful that the teachings continue through all of you, whether via your personal practices or larger sangha groups. We are especially grateful for the contributions of those involved in organizing, coordinating, and maintaining the various Bright Dawn programs and activities, particularly the Lay Ministry Program. BRIGHT DAWN CENTER LAY MINISTRY PROGRAM We are not applications for the Lay Ministry Program at this time. We are in the process of regrouping after the sudden death of Rev. Koyo Kubose. We will announce any further information about the program on this site or at the https://brightdawn.org/ site.
